Whether you have characters running around in your stories already, or this is a new concept to you, this class is a place to think about what makes the who interesting and intriguing.

Prompts will help you move past the obvious of supplying a general visual and presence, to compile details that give a character history and personality that make them feel real. We will brainstorm subtle clues of mannerisms and speech, and consider telling tidbits like grocery cart items, that one ever-cracked thumbnail, and tax deduction choices. Your imagination will mosaic random pieces into an engaging whole as you go.

Then we will put our characters into settings and let them come alive in different situations. You are free to write stories in your choice of genre, whether that is personal reflection, humor, suspense, sci-fi, poetry, or anything else.

As with all Constellations classes, we gather to expand our writing selves through enjoyment and support. We do not edit or critique.

Open to all writing levels, whether first timers or experienced sages.

Exercise prompts and formats are continually rotated and added to, so that you can repeat this course on an ongoing basis.
